Applied Business Technologies Sdn Bhd (ABT) and Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) Signed MOU to Implement Iskandar Malaysia Integrated Information Infrastructure (IM3i).

ABT and IRDA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop and implement an integrated information infrastructure within the Iskandar Malaysia Region known as Iskandar Malaysia Integrated Information Infrastructure (IM3i). The MOU was executed by ABT CEO, Mr Faizalrizal Akhbar and IRDA’s CEO, Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, with the exchange of documents witnessed by IRDA co-Chairman and Menteri Besar of Johor, Dato’ Mohamed Khaled Nordin. Together with this signing ceremony, IRDA also executed another MOU with Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor (KPRJ) to complement the initiative undertaken with ABT.

“The implementation of IM3i, a holistic and comprehensive information infrastructure within the Iskandar Region, would benefit the citizens of Iskandar Malaysia“, says Faizalrizal Akhbar, ABT’s CEO. “The provision of an ultra-speed broadband through both fixed and mobile channels would generate investors interest, economic growth and be of direct financial benefit to the Johor state and its local authorities”.

IM3i is projected to be completed within 3 years and involves the setting up of a submarine cable landing station and data center, laying of fiber optics together with small cell 4.5G network. These developments are all aligned with developments structured within Iskandar Malaysia Comprehensive Development Plan II (CDPii), the document accentuating the vision and development pathway for Iskandar Malaysia.
